PUTRAJAYA, 20 July 2025 – Silat Malaysia continues to shine on the global stage as Dr Mohamad Nizam Shapie, PASSMAL, and the World Silat Federation (WSF) celebrate a series of prestigious international recognitions that validate decades of dedication to martial arts excellence and cultural diplomacy.
From academic accolades to performance awards, these honours reflect the growing influence of Silat Malaysia in the realms of sport, education, and heritage.
7 International Awards That Celebrate Silat Malaysia’s Excellence:
1. 🏆 Best Paper Oral Presentation Award – ACPES 2025, Philippines
Dr. Nizam was honoured for his decade-long research on Silat coaching science and the academicisation of Silat Melayu.
2. 🌍World Martial Arts 2021 Research Award – UNESCO ICM
Acknowledging Silat Malaysia’s contribution to preserving intangible cultural heritage.
3. 🌍 Anugerah Program Silat Antarabangsa Terbaik – IMACSSS & GSMACC 2020 & 2024
