Shah Alam, November 2025 – The International Malay Martial Arts Innovation event (iMAN25) concluded this week with resounding success, positioning Malaysia as a global hub for martial arts innovation. Dr. Mohamad Nizam Mohamed Shapie, Silat Expert of PASSMAL and President of the World Silat Federation, emphasized the importance of innovation in sustaining Silat’s relevance. “Our mission is clear: to preserve the authenticity of Silat while adapting to global standards. iMAN25 reflects Malaysia’s leadership in this transformation,” he said during the opening ceremony.
The event also unveiled Silat for Beginners, an online learning platform designed to make Silat accessible to a wider audience. This initiative aligns with PASSMAL’s vision of integrating technology into martial arts education, ensuring that learners worldwide can experience the richness of Malay heritage.
