Silat EVO at M-MAF2025 – A Showcase of Youth, Culture & Combat Excellence

The Malaysia Martial Arts Festival (M-MAF2025) was a landmark event for Silat EVO. Held in September 2025, it brought together martial artists, educators, youth leaders, and government agencies to celebrate the power of martial arts in shaping character, culture, and community. For PASSMAL, it was the perfect stage to showcase Silat EVO—Malaysia’s newest combat sport innovation.

Silat EVO was featured prominently throughout the festival, with live demonstrations, youth competitions, coaching workshops, and interactive sessions. The event marked the first time Silat EVO was presented as part of a national anti-bullying initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (KPM).

The highlight was the Anti-Bullying Youth Programme, where students from various schools participated in Silat EVO clinics. They learned basic sparring techniques, emotional regulation strategies, and the philosophy of Silat Melayu. Coaches certified under the SSM2050 curriculum guided them through drills that emphasised respect, discipline, and self-confidence.

The response was overwhelming. Students reported feeling more empowered, more connected to their peers, and more aware of how martial arts could help them stand up to bullying—not with violence, but with inner strength. Teachers and school leaders praised the programme for its impact on student behaviour and engagement.

Silat EVO matches during M-MAF2025 were fast-paced, technical, and respectful. Youth exponents showcased their skills in a safe, structured environment, with referees ensuring fair play and sportsmanship. The audience was captivated by the blend of tradition and innovation—where ancient Silat movements met modern combat formats.

PASSMAL also hosted a panel discussion on Silat EVO’s role in youth development, featuring Dr. Mohamad Nizam Shapie, educators, and sports scientists. Topics included the integration of Silat EVO into school programmes, the use of digital tools for coaching, and the importance of martial arts in building resilience and leadership.

The festival concluded with an award ceremony recognising outstanding youth participants, coaches, and schools. Categories included “Best Newcomer,” “Most Disciplined Athlete,” and “Silat EVO Ambassador.” These awards reinforced the idea that Silat EVO is not just about competition—it’s about growth, contribution, and community.

M-MAF2025 proved that Silat EVO is ready for the national stage—and beyond. It’s a sport, a philosophy, and a movement that empowers youth, celebrates culture, and promotes peace through strength.

As PASSMAL prepares for future events, including the IMACSSS International Conference 2026 in Poland, Silat EVO continues to evolve—bringing Malaysia’s martial arts heritage to the world.
